The World's Biggest Boom — 65m!
On May 30th, Concord Concrete Pumps, Inc. announced the release of the world's first 65-Meter concrete pump, billing it as "the largest in the world." On the same day they announced that the first owner of a pump of this size would be Pumpco, Inc., the world's second largest concrete pumping company. It sounds like that's a one-two punch which is going to get a lot of work done. Pumpco is scheduled to receive this monster pump at the end of June.
Sporting a five-inch delivery line and all standard elbows, this pump stands to have lower maintenance costs, a longer life and better throughput than other pumps in this class. The development of this pump followed a request from Pumpco for a bigger boom after being more than satisfied with the two concord 60m pumps they currently operate.

Fuel Tax Update
The ACPA has successfully collected some of the requisite information to move forward with their efforts to have congress implement a fuel tax exemption for concrete pumps. With fuel usage information collected for over 400 concrete pumps, the ACPA will now assemble a presentation to show the IRS demonstrating that over 50% of fuel usage by concrete pumps is off-road, or "non-propulsive."
This important landmark has been reached in part thanks to the many concrete pumping companies which allowed us to visit their yards and collect fuel usage data on behalf of the ACPA. We appreciate the efforts of those working to save the industry money, and again encourage you to contact the ACPA to see how you can help. Remember, the money they are working to save is yours.
Be sure to read more about this in the upcoming issue of Concrete Pumping Magazine. Visit the ACPA website to receive a free subscription to Concrete Pumping Magazine.
