CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2008 Slideshow

What's bigger than big? CONEXPO-CON/AGG, that's what.
CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2008 is the largest trade show in North America of any industry in 2008. More than 144,600 industry professionals from around the world attended CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2008 during its five-day run March 11-15, 2008 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, USA.
The place was packed and there were so many exhibitors that it was almost impossible to see everything the show had in just one day.

DT Company Update
2008 has been a busy year for the DispatchThis team. We spent the first couple of months learning about the Pumpware product (which we acquired from Putzmeister America) and working with our new customers from the World of Concrete.
Now we're on vacation.
Just kidding.
The Pumpware product is continuing to be managed by Dennis Ackermann (new DispatchThis team member). Dennis is a great guy to work with and is continuing to support customers while working on the Pumpware GPS integration.
The DispatchThis product has had surge of new customers during the first couple of months in 2008. In addition to working with our new friends, we're also working with a couple of GPS vendors so we can display GPS data from more GPS companies within the DispatchThis system.
We're continuing to work hard, building new tools and doing what we can to help you save money. Thank you for the support and be sure to check out next month's newsletter, it'll have pictures from the ACPA meeting.
Sany's March to Georgia Continues...
Sany is one step closer to opening their new facility in the United States. The conceptual design of their new campus has been approved by the Peachtree City Planning Commission.
"Previously submitted plans showed the oval-shaped main office building, the headquarters for administrative and research and development functions, connecting to the adjacent assembly building by a pedestrian bridge. A plaza, courtyard and reflecting pool will separate the two buildings.
"The area will also be used to showcase the concrete pumper trucks that will be assembled at the facility... and the perimeters of the development will include significant landscaping and preserved wetlands..."
Plans for the completion of the first phase of development have a planned completion in the fall of 2009. We'll be looking for our grand opening invite in the mail!
You can click here to view a pdf of the conceptual drawings of the new facilities, and here to read more about the approval.
Pumpin' Concrete Underground in Canada
We came across this cool article relating an interesting pour in Toronto. A tight construction site for the first high-rise to go up in Toronto in nearly a decade, a creative solution was necessary for getting the concrete pumping work done.
The Amherst Group had just the solution. They took the pump off-site, ran pipe underground, and pumped to a placing boom on the construction site:
"...a 700-horsepower high-pressure concrete pump sits in a parking lot across the road from the site, pumping the concrete through pipes under the road to a 110-foot-radius placing boom on the building site. This set-up ensures that crane time is freed up for other trades."

For Fun: Pump Sponsored Race Car Places Second!
In their most recent race, the J&M Racing team, sponsored by Western Concrete Pumping, placed second!
In what was a very close race, driver Nick Joandies, finished 0.049 seconds behind race winner Andrew Myers. This race indicates a very promising race for this team. We plan to keep a eye on their season.
Follow along with them here, and see the rest of their website here.
