WOC 2009: A Fantastic Time!

DispatchThis had a fantastic time at WOC 2009. We had a great opportunity to catch up with some of our Pumpware and DispatchThis.com customers, and meet some new faces, too! As usual, the ACPA Cocktail Party was a success giving everyone a chance to get together, have some drinks and break some bread — if you missed out this year, you can check out our slideshow and we look forward to seeing you next year at WOC 2010!
Zoomlion Announces CIFA Acquisition at WOC

At WOC, Zoomlion and CIFA did a joint announcement of the finalized acquisition. The companies announced that they were going to maintain both brands in the U.S., and hope this strategy will allow them to secure a strong foothold in the North American market even during these difficult economic times.
From the article, here are some highlights of the transaction:
- Combines leading European brand in concrete machinery and leading Chinese construction equipment manufacturer, creating world's largest concrete machinery manufacturer
- Complementary geographic coverage and product ranges with rapidly expanding sales and service networks in most major markets worldwide
- Total transaction value of approximately 511 million euro, including total equity contribution from the consortium of 271 million and debt financing of 240 million euro.
- Deal expected to be accretive to Zoomlion's earnings in its first year, with savings expected from coordinated expansion into emerging markets, leveraging on combined company's global sales and distribution network, increased production efficiency and R&D resources.

Smitty's Concrete Pumping Lends a Hand in Tough Times
Smitty's Concrete Pumping of Hesperia, CA, recently donated time and equipment to an Extreme Makeover: Home Edition effort. Despite the downturn, Smitty's, and other construction companies in the area committed to building a home for the Almquist family, and their exotic animals.
The family spends most of their time and resources to support their animal sanctuary where they care for abused and abandoned exoctic animals. Much of Smitty's work centered around the facility for the animals: "We did a pond and some sort of a waterfall and a kind of a deck around the waterfall."
